400,000 people came out to march in NYC this sunday demanding strong & immediate action on climate policy! i was lucky to be there in person, and i recorded some footage i will share soon. tomorrow the UN summit on climate change meets in NYC, with ~150 world leaders gathering there. hopefully they wil be swayed by this recent action, to act more bravely against the fossil fuel industry, the animal agriculture industry, and others who are ruining our environment and thereby recklessly attacking the health and safety of countless people, primarily poor people of color in various parts of the world who are already feeling the harsh effects of climate change.
i’m very interested to read naomi klein’s new book about capitalism vs the climate when i can afford to get a copy soon, and hopefully i will find ways to become more active around these issues in my life/work.. climate justice is not the only pressing issue of our time, but it intersects with just about every other struggle there is, and our failure to act soon will cause enormous suffering to huge amounts of people.. here is a TIME article about the climate march this weekend <3
